Who we are
Tri Camp was set up by Nick and Claire Dunn. After years of searching for the perfect training camp, Nick & Claire decided to start up their own fully catered camp that takes away all the distractions of a normal self catered camp, allowing you to concentrate on what’s important – training!
Nick is current age group European Champion and 2009 age group World Champion. He is an experienced BTA level 2 coach having worked with dozens of triathletes and clients through his triathlon coaching and personal training business over the last 8 years.
He started out in triathlon while at university studying sports science on a borrowed bike at a novice race in 2001 and has competed in over 100 triathlons since. He also picked up the BTA and 220 male triathlete of the year awards in 09/10. Since then he has focused more and more on coaching and is currently working toward his BTA level 3 qualification. Nick is keen to pass on his knowledge and experiences both of training in Mallorca and racing in triathlons. Nick is also a fully qualified sports massage therapist and nutritional adviser, so will talk forever about triathlon if you fancy a good old chinwag!
Heather started off as a swimmer, competing at Nationals every year from the age of 11 until she went to uni at Loughborough. She then ventured into the triathlon world and began training with the High Performance squad before competing in elite events around the country and at European Cup races. In 2008 Heather came 3rd at the elite British sprint champs and was selected to go to World Student Games in Turkey.
Claire, Nicks wife, does the 'boring' stuff behind the scenes and makes sure everything happens as and when it should. Luckily, she flippin' loves her job and wouldn'd have it anywhere else. Claire's self made job description is simply "making work for everyone else to do" - just about sums it up!
Lu joined our team last year and it's fair to say, she raised the bar on the food a notch or two! From homemade onion bhaji's on curry night to amazing Mars Bar cheesecake and to die for sundried tomato and basil bread, Lu certainly kept us all well fed throughout. Lu joins us again in 2013 and we can't wait to sample next years menu - we hear she's perfected the art of sushi over the winter!!
Is the newest addition to the Tri Camp team and whilst he lacks some experience he's a complete water baby and is totally fearless - not a great combination and certainly keep us on our toes!
